Democrats To Go is a group of Alexandria Democrats dedicated to helping Democratic candidates outside the blue stronghold of Alexandria. We canvass and participate in other outreach efforts to help our friends communicate the truth, build our base and elect more good people throughout Virginia.
After launching in 2017, Democrats To Go worked on behalf of House of Delegates candidates such as Elizabeth Guzman, Jennifer Carroll Foy, Lee Carter and Donte Tanner, chipping in to a dominant performance by Democrats. (We also helped the victorious statewide trio of Gov. Ralph Northam, Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax and Attorney General Mark Herring.)
In 2018, we helped Elaine Luiria, Abigail Spanberger and Jennifer Wexton flip Virginia’s Congressional delegation from red to blue.
In 2019, we’ll be concentrating on the Virginia General Assembly, where a good performance will give Democrats control of both chambers for the first time since 1995.
